The paper reflects on the processes that have led to the discovery of the bunker military landscape of the Galla Placidia Line, focusing on conservation strategies to extend its life cycle while enhancing the activities for its knowledge and public enjoyment. In particular, the essay describes the participatory process behind its definition, the impacts in terms of sustainability, and the integration of community, environment, cultural heritage and circular economy. Moreover, it delves into the nature and features of an enabling toolkit which is tailor designed for the continuous care of bunkers and their context. The discussion is framed within the Linea Galla Placidia project, funded from 2020 by the Emilia-Romagna Region with the financial support of the Municipalities of Ravenna and Riccione, aimed at avoiding de-patrimonialization phenomena suffered by the so-called “dissonant heritage”

Abstract
The paper reflects on the processes that have led to the discovery of the bunker military landscape of the Galla Placidia Line, focusing on conservation strategies to extend its life cycle while enhancing the activities for its knowledge and public enjoyment. In particular, the essay describes the participatory process behind its definition, the impacts in terms of sustainability, and the integration of community, environment, cultural heritage and circular economy. Moreover, it delves into the nature and features of an enabling toolkit which is tailor designed for the continuous care of bunkers and their context. The discussion is framed within the Linea Galla Placidia project, funded from 2020 by the Emilia-Romagna Region with the financial support of the Municipalities of Ravenna and Riccione, aimed at avoiding de-patrimonialization phenomena suffered by the so-called “dissonant heritage”File | Dimensione | Formato | |
