A preventative and a curative field trials were carried out in 2008 on in-ground and potted Trachycarpus fortunei (Hooker), Wendland palms in order to evaluate the efficacy of two different formulations of the entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema carpocapsae (Weiser) in respectively preventing new Paysandisia archon Burmeister infestations and controlling the palm pest on already infested plants. The tested S. carpocapsae formulations showed very high efficacy (close to 100%) in both preventing new infestetions and controlling P. archon. The entomopathogenic nematode can thus be considered a highly tool for the control of this target pest.

Abstract
A preventative and a curative field trials were carried out in 2008 on in-ground and potted Trachycarpus fortunei (Hooker), Wendland palms in order to evaluate the efficacy of two different formulations of the entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema carpocapsae (Weiser) in respectively preventing new Paysandisia archon Burmeister infestations and controlling the palm pest on already infested plants. The tested S. carpocapsae formulations showed very high efficacy (close to 100%) in both preventing new infestetions and controlling P. archon. The entomopathogenic nematode can thus be considered a highly tool for the control of this target pest.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
