The aim of this paper is to propose and discuss the structuure of an automatic system for reasoning about data inspection missions concerning underwater structures. The systemis mainly intended as a support for the operator activity during survey of undersea pipilines and it represents a first step in the development of fully automatic systems for unmanned inspection missions.
