Ocular myositis is a rare disorder characterized by inflammation of single or multiple extraocular eye muscles presenting with painful diplopia and/or ophthalmoplegia. Glucocorticoids represent the first-line therapy. However, in the case of refractory or relapsing disease, the addition of an immunomodulatory and/or immunosuppressive agent is recommended. We describe here the case of a young boy with ocular myositis successfully treated with subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg).

Glucocorticoids represent the first-line therapy. However, in the case of refractory or relapsing disease, the addition of an immunomodulatory and/or immunosuppressive agent is recommended.
