Abstract This article attempts to review the dynamics of consumer credit and general financial focus of increasingly large share of family wealth, in the economies of desire. The issue of consumer credit refers to a feature of consumer societies. It induces families to borrow, encouraging additional spending based on the foreseen income – the one an individual think he will have in the future - and not on the real today income. Bringing individuals to live beyond their means is accomplished through a mechanism of collective projection of psycho-social expectations. The activity of the source of desire is the basis of this process. Keywords: consumer credit, economy of desire, market transformation, libidinal economies
