A total of 99 samples of various food products was examined for the presence of Listeria species from November 1995 to May 1996. Strains of Listeria were found in 23 (23,2%) samples: in 6 (40%) of meat products, in 13 (39,4%) of sausages, in 1 (25%) of fish products, in 1 (10%) of gastronomic products and in 2 (6,1%) of dairy products. No strain was isolated from vegetables. Eleven out of 23 (47,9%) samples contained L. monocytogenes, 10 (43,4%) contained L. innocua and 2 (8,7%) L. grayi. L. monocytogenes was isolated from raw meat and sausage products, particularly in pork. These results confirm the diffusion of the pathogenic microorganism in foods and the need to control and prevent the correlated infections, particularly in persons at high risk.

Abstract
These results confirm the diffusion of the pathogenic microorganism in foods and the need to control and prevent the correlated infections, particularly in persons at high risk.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
