The central Italian territories engaged in post-earthquake reconstruction represent an experimental laboratory where ongoing planning and programming efforts shape responses to the disaster by exploring new architectural and territorial forms. These aim to develop more resilient and sustainable structural-functional relationships, acknowledging that the demographic and climate crises are two sides of the same coin. In this context, the Extraordinary Reconstruction Programs offer insights into how planning can effectively support the definition of long-term development trajectories capable of restoring enhanced landscapes and stronger communities. Rebuilding through an environmental approach—less ideological and more operational-design oriented—can foster a flexible convergence between natural capital and communities while outlining a sustainable development model based on the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.

Abstract
The central Italian territories engaged in post-earthquake reconstruction represent an experimental laboratory where ongoing planning and programming efforts shape responses to the disaster by exploring new architectural and territorial forms. These aim to develop more resilient and sustainable structural-functional relationships, acknowledging that the demographic and climate crises are two sides of the same coin. In this context, the Extraordinary Reconstruction Programs offer insights into how planning can effectively support the definition of long-term development trajectories capable of restoring enhanced landscapes and stronger communities. Rebuilding through an environmental approach—less ideological and more operational-design oriented—can foster a flexible convergence between natural capital and communities while outlining a sustainable development model based on the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
