RESETtling APPennines is a research project financed by the "National Operational Programme for Research and Innovation 2014-20" that explores new transformation dynamics and strategies for the valorisation of the built heritage of the Italian inner areas to re-activate them. In particular, the objects of the thesis are the Appennino Basso Pesarese-Anconetano and the municipality of Cagli. The name “RESETtling APPennines” is intended to encompass the multidisciplinary and trans-scalar approach adopted that focuses on architectural and urban design, and representation of architecture. It integrates different tools, including photographic campaigns, interviews, dialogue with local actors and ICT & 3D Data and merges different thematic areas and scales (architecture, territory, landscape, cultural heritage). The research by design method, in which the architectural project is the medium and object of study, allows the construction of future scenarios through an exploratory and innovative process in which research components and design activities are mixed. In RESETtling APPennines, a sequence of methodological steps allowed the discovery of the intrinsic qualities and potentialities of the area, and the consequent definition of regeneration strategies aimed at activating new economies and new life cycles. These have been associated with design visions of local development and heritage reactivation, through a collaborative construction of architecture. Important has been the dialogue with the local administration, which understood the importance of the research and opened a public debate on the need for shared spaces for the community. The aim is to make Cagli a paradigmatic case: the research intends to develop new design intervention methodologies applicable to all the inner areas. Therefore, a Manifesto is drawn up that summarises the knowledge acquired and conveys it in a clear and replicable manner, supporting the importance of architectural design for a new idea of habitat in the process of reactivating the heritage in contexts such as inner areas.

Abstract
Therefore, a Manifesto is drawn up that summarises the knowledge acquired and conveys it in a clear and replicable manner, supporting the importance of architectural design for a new idea of habitat in the process of reactivating the heritage in contexts such as inner areas.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
