Impact chains: a proposal for risk and vulnerability analysis at the interface between local communities and climate forcings. The advent of the Anthropocene marks a new era in the relationship between mankind and nature. Together, the concept of risk evolves as well, changing towards an increasingly complex kind of interaction that has often an anthropogenic origin. It is therefore pivotal to hold reliable tools to assess vulnerability and risk conditions at the local level. The methodology for Risk and Vulnerability Analysis (RVA), developed within the European project RESPONSe, represents an innovative tool in this sense. In fact, the research effort, focused on those fields potentially most impacted by climate change, translates into the identification of fundamental ecosystem services, and the detection of which anthropogenic processes are most harmful to the habitat.

Abstract
Impact chains: a proposal for risk and vulnerability analysis at the interface between local communities and climate forcings. The advent of the Anthropocene marks a new era in the relationship between mankind and nature. Together, the concept of risk evolves as well, changing towards an increasingly complex kind of interaction that has often an anthropogenic origin. It is therefore pivotal to hold reliable tools to assess vulnerability and risk conditions at the local level. The methodology for Risk and Vulnerability Analysis (RVA), developed within the European project RESPONSe, represents an innovative tool in this sense. In fact, the research effort, focused on those fields potentially most impacted by climate change, translates into the identification of fundamental ecosystem services, and the detection of which anthropogenic processes are most harmful to the habitat.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
