This essay aims to share some reflections on the future organizational structure of Italian healthcare in the light of some recent regulatory guidelines aimed at pushing towards greater competitiveness between the providers of services and a more significant transparency of their performances. The study underlines that a reorganization of healthcare system cannot be thought of without a reconsideration of the accreditation requirements and regional programming more in line with a new generation of health care.
