Based on a systematic literature review, the paper aims to analyse the scientific knowledge on the blockchain-technology adoption by food and beverage firms, in order to systematize a literature which is quite fragmented and sparse across various research fields. The focus on this industry is justified by the great potential that blockchain adoption can exert in solving important problems that food and beverage firms are facing today, such as food fraud and consumers’ trust drop. Moreover, this study differs from existing literature reviews that adopted a narrowed view on the topic, for example by focusing only on food supply chain
