The aim of this paper is to consider feasible approaches that could improve the effectiveness of the inspection procedures of organic control bodies (CB). We develop a risk-based model for inspections based on structural information on organic operators’, and including aspects concerning the scheduling and type of the visit, as well as those concerning inspectors. The results of our model indicate that ther is scope for increasing the efficiency of inspections, which could result in a prioritisation of controls for higher risk context, while reducing unnecessary burden for the remaining cases

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to consider feasible approaches that could improve the effectiveness of the inspection procedures of organic control bodies (CB). We develop a risk-based model for inspections based on structural information on organic operators’, and including aspects concerning the scheduling and type of the visit, as well as those concerning inspectors. The results of our model indicate that ther is scope for increasing the efficiency of inspections, which could result in a prioritisation of controls for higher risk context, while reducing unnecessary burden for the remaining casesI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
