The aim of this report is to focus on the landscape and its transformations, as a result of the indiscriminate use and consumption of our territory. Within this process, the role of the rural landscape in the settlement context becomes of great importance. The report is aimed to define a new approach to the interpretation of the territory, with regard to that of the Marche region as a case study, intended not only as a cognitive tool, but also as a planning basis helpful in achieving quality criteria of the landscape and the environment. The analysis includes also new approaches that consider the whole complexity of the landscape, which is compared to a heritage, seen as great resource not properly preservated and valorized. The study continues with the realization of a “schedule of rural landscape” or “rurality models”. This makes immediately recognizable that portion of territory in which the “classic” components, natural and anthropic, together with the perceptive one which organizes the structure of that unique part, overlap. That combination of signs and symbols – that have originated a specific traditional structure (preexistences) together with a complex of new elements (transformations) coexist in each of them. Further, the research should identify some models able to reflect the different kind of the relationship between landscape / morphology / rurality / settlement. An innovative methodology, based on a critical interpretation of the rurality role and its transformations in the contemporary concept of landscape, is applied to the above mentioned models, which are considered as “sample”. This phase leads to the identification of “territory transformation rules” which help to overcome the existing discrepancy between theoretical standard and planning process. This leads to the development of the project, intended as a tool by which facing problems and proposing appropriate changes, able to face up characters and peculiar features of the territory in question.

Abstract
This leads to the development of the project, intended as a tool by which facing problems and proposing appropriate changes, able to face up characters and peculiar features of the territory in question.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
