The behavior of the ensemble averaged wave impedance computed by the rectangular field components and the impedance computed by the total field is numerically studied for a nonideal reverberation chamber. Evident departures from the medium intrinsic impedance are observed for the rectangular components when the ratio of the means and the mean of the ratios are exchanged. The power received by the antenna placed in the chamber is compared to that computed by the total field components, the rectangular field components using the wave impedance and the intrinsic impedance.

Abstract

The behavior of the ensemble averaged wave impedance computed by the rectangular field components and the impedance computed by the total field is numerically studied for a nonideal reverberation chamber. Evident departures from the medium intrinsic impedance are observed for the rectangular components when the ratio of the means and the mean of the ratios are exchanged. The power received by the antenna placed in the chamber is compared to that computed by the total field components, the rectangular field components using the wave impedance and the intrinsic impedance.
