This work describes a class of modular multiplexers, obtained from a manifold realized by connecting Y Junctions. The properties of the Y-junction afford good performance while at the same time drastically reducing the synthesis effort. In fact, it is simple to derive analytical formulae for the positions of the separately designed branching filters, as well as for the dimensions of the manifold. If the filters employed satisfy some essential specifications in their guard-bands, synthesis does not require any further optimization. Finally, the synthesis algorithm permits to increase the number of channels, just by connecting other junctions and filters to the given configuration without requiring additional design effort.

Abstract
This work describes a class of modular multiplexers, obtained from a manifold realized by connecting Y Junctions. The properties of the Y-junction afford good performance while at the same time drastically reducing the synthesis effort. In fact, it is simple to derive analytical formulae for the positions of the separately designed branching filters, as well as for the dimensions of the manifold. If the filters employed satisfy some essential specifications in their guard-bands, synthesis does not require any further optimization. Finally, the synthesis algorithm permits to increase the number of channels, just by connecting other junctions and filters to the given configuration without requiring additional design effort.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
