Abstract

Eurocode 7 has been described as an ‘umbrella’ code, which can accommodate various geotechnical practices, and as such is well suited for adoption not only throughout Europe but also in other parts of the world. This paper reviews Eurocode 7’s suitability in this regard and is divided into three parts: Part 1 provides an overview of Eurocode 7 Part 1; Part 2 discusses experience implementing thecode in Europe; and Part 3 summarizes attitudes towards the code in some non-European countries.
