Effects of swelling have been investigated by unloading two heavily overconsolidated natural clays at very low stress, both in one dimensional and isotropic tests. The response of the swelling soils is examined with respect to their compressibility and failure characteristics. The behaviour of the clays subjected to swelling is compared with the one shown by remoulded reconstituted samples from the same material.

Abstract
Effects of swelling have been investigated by unloading two heavily overconsolidated natural clays at very low stress, both in one dimensional and isotropic tests. The response of the swelling soils is examined with respect to their compressibility and failure characteristics. The behaviour of the clays subjected to swelling is compared with the one shown by remoulded reconstituted samples from the same material.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
