TRANSFORMERS. Steering urban transition towards sustainability and resilience

This book collects the materials used and gained through the TRANSFORMERS project. In the first part, a thematic essay by Jörg Schröder, Barbara Lino, and Maddalena Ferretti articulates the topics, background and trajectory for the international dialogue, along the topics CIRCULAR URBANISM, COMMUNITY MAKING, and ARCHITECTURE FOR JUST TRANSITION. And an essay by Federica Scaffidi explores transformative agency in peripheral urban ter- ritories with specific focus on Western Sicily. The second part showcases themes, approaches, and findings from the three events organised by TRANSFORMERS: the research workshop in Jesi/Italy, the conference in Hannover/Germany, and the winter school in Sambuca di Sicilia/Italy. In the third part, peer-reviewed contributions offer insights into emerging research, in Europe and in a global range.
