The recent earthquakes in Europe and all around the world demonstrate a high vulnerability and low shear capacity of existing reinforced concrete (RC) industrial building characterized by reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures designed without seismic rules. In this paper authors examinate the structural response of an existing RC industrial building located in the Center of Italy invested by dynamic motion caused by seismic actions. A damage analysis has been conducted to evaluate the response of RC structural elements under seismic motions. Finite element (FE) investigation has been performed adopting a non-linear static method with the aim to individuate the structural elements characterized by an inadequate shear and bending capacity. The rehabilitation technique adopted to improve the seismic capacity of the existing RC frames has been presented.

Abstract
The rehabilitation technique adopted to improve the seismic capacity of the existing RC frames has been presented.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
