The new town hall in Mercatello sul Metauro built between 1879 and 1880 is part of an extensive list of public works completed by the municipal administration in the small medieval town. The new structure, designed by Alessandro Benedetti and Emanuele Civi, stands in the main square of the Massa Trabaria town, positively marking the dialogue with the pre-existing architecture present in the context for centuries with accurate stylistic and technical solutions. The majestic façade is punctuated on the ground floor by a nine-arched loggia that picks up on the compositional theme of the pre-existing buildings, as well as the decorations of the windows on the main floor that recall the languages of the past.

Abstract
The new town hall in Mercatello sul Metauro built between 1879 and 1880 is part of an extensive list of public works completed by the municipal administration in the small medieval town. The new structure, designed by Alessandro Benedetti and Emanuele Civi, stands in the main square of the Massa Trabaria town, positively marking the dialogue with the pre-existing architecture present in the context for centuries with accurate stylistic and technical solutions. The majestic façade is punctuated on the ground floor by a nine-arched loggia that picks up on the compositional theme of the pre-existing buildings, as well as the decorations of the windows on the main floor that recall the languages of the past.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
