At the design phase, designers must investigate whatdesign solution represents the best trade-off among a setof simulated fire scenarios. This choice requires aquantitative assessment, embracing the concept ofperformance-based design. This task can be facilitatedusing key performance indicators (KPIs). A KPI assessinglife safety in the event of a fire is tested in this paper. Also,a framework to facilitate the mapping of KPI valuesthrough a graphical visualisation superimposed on theBIM model will be showcased. As a results, the life safetyperformance assessment is performed at any points of thebuilding layout.
