All cultural sites offer digital opportunities that enhance the cultural experience of visitors. Developing digital strategies has become a key factor influencing the entire ecosystem around museums. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became evident that dedicated professionals and learning paths were lacking in the field of Digital Curation of Heritage. This paper presents the initial achievements of the 'DCBox – Digital Curator Training & Tool Box' project, which aims to investigate, depict, and provide tools for a new generation of European professionals working in the cultural heritage sector. These professionals are equipped with a recognised, cross-cutting, and high-level digital skillset. The mapping exercise and the construction of an online learning path for upskilling individuals working in the cultural heritage exhibitions and dissemination are showed. The learning experience is analysed through both qualitative and quantitative perspectives, using interviews with students and tutors, as well as questionnaires. A way forward is also provided concerning the update of curricula in the cultural heritage field, triggered by the digital transformation.
