Conflict in business succession is a critical issue for family businesses because it involves managing the transfer of leadership and ownership from one generation to the next. Using a hybrid literature review that includes bibliometrics and content analysis, we examine the relevant literature on business succession and conflict in family firms. After a general overview of the evolution of studies, we identify the relevant authors, journals, countries, and articles. Then, methods and limitations of the literature are pointed out. Finally, the content analysis highlights the most common types of family conflicts that can occur in family succession
