In the digital audio processing field, crossover networks play an essential rule, and they are employed in several applications. Although the literature does not offer many perceptual analysis, the perceptual evaluation of a crossover network is important to investigate audible errors that may arise during the reproduction. In this context, this paper presents a perceptual study of a linear-phase digital crossover network previously developed by the same authors. The proposed crossover exploits interpolated finite impulse response (IFIR) filters, which guarantee a linear phase response. Subjective experiments have been carried out to perceptually evaluate the proposed crossover in comparison with the well-known Linkwitz-Riley infinite impulse response (IIR) crossover network.
