Aim of the paper is to analyse the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on multidimensional italian well-being of the population aged 50 or over by measuring the individual well-being changes before and after pandemic. To capture the multidimensional nature, we consider different dimensions: economic, health, social connections and work. Therefore, an individual well-being change index is constructed to measure non-directional, downward and upward movements. We use micro-data from waves 8 and 9 of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). Findings suggest that employed and richer individuals suffer greater well-being losses highlighting the key role of health on well-being
