The essay describes the collaborative relationship that developed in the 1950s between Gio Ponti, Pier Luigi Nervi, Ture Wennerholm and Ferruccio Rossetti for the design and construction of the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm. Research based on public and private archive documents kept in Rome, Parma and Stockholm has made it possible to reconstruct the event that generated one of the works closest to Gio Ponti's theoretical thinking in the second half of the 20th century.
