The principle of sustainable development is the subject of increasing attention by the international, European and national legislators and finds its most important affirmation in the phenomenon of the socalled energy transition. The energy transition involves studying waste as a legal asset, meaning therefore not as ‘any substance or object of which the holder disposes or has the intention or the obligation to discard’ but as an entity that has multiple vital cycles and is suitable to become the subject of subjective legal situations. Hence the importance of a survey conducted through an interdisciplinary approach: juridical and economic-business souls are strengthened to offer concrete answers to what is the greatest challenge that present society is called to face. Indeed, the transition from a linear to a circular economy model becomes indefectible for the implementation of the principle of sustainable development. The volume is structured in three sections dedicated to the Commodification of Waste: function and remedies; the International Legal Framework Concerning Waste Management and Its Fiscal Aspects; Waste management profiles and impacts on sustainable development. The book, with an ambitious vision, aims to be the first in a series of works on the subject of waste and the circular economy.

Abstract
The book, with an ambitious vision, aims to be the first in a series of works on the subject of waste and the circular economy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
