The European Year of Cultural Heritage (2018) is the most relevant milestone attesting the global dimension of cultural heritage on the one hand, and the crucial role of European Union policies on the other. Starting from the experience of H2020 ROCK project – Regeneration and Optimisation of Cultural heritage in creative and Knowledge cities –, this paper explores European research strategies and orientations in the processes of knowledge, interpretation, communication, management and enhancement of global cultural heritage.
