This essay investigates the function of ‘sustainable civil law’ remedies moving from the idea that the traditional distinction between public and private law must be abandoned. In this perspective, the paper examines especially remedies of repair and replacement in the sale of consumer goods and Producer extended responsibility, highlighting the profiles of assonance and dissonance of the national and European discipline in relation to the objectives of sustainable development in the ‘Circular economy’ model.
