The shielding effectiveness of cementitious composites loaded by conductive fibers exhibits a particular frequency behavior that differs a lot from the case of powder fillers. The effects is ascribed to the random distribution of the conductive fibers inside the mortar that form a sort of grid with random side. Furthermore, contact among each fibers is not perfect and characterized by both a resistive and a capacitive nature. Some measurement data obtained by the nested reverberation chamber method are shown, and a simplified model is presented to predict such frequency behavior.

Abstract

The shielding effectiveness of cementitious composites loaded by conductive fibers exhibits a particular frequency behavior that differs a lot from the case of powder fillers. The effects is ascribed to the random distribution of the conductive fibers inside the mortar that form a sort of grid with random side. Furthermore, contact among each fibers is not perfect and characterized by both a resistive and a capacitive nature. Some measurement data obtained by the nested reverberation chamber method are shown, and a simplified model is presented to predict such frequency behavior.
