Abstract

The current development of the conventional electric vehicles takes place simultaneously with the advances of fuel cells equipped prototypes: Small manufacturers benefit of the results coming from the large R&D investments on the hydrogen traction by world car leaders; on the other hand fuel cell technology can exploit an advanced development platform on which improving the technical solutions to be integrated in tomorrow vehicles. A meaningful example is the introduction of the high flux density in-wheel motors. The company Movincar company has been developing two innovative products based on this advanced technology and adopted CAE virtual prototyping and kineto-elastic tools for a quicker and more affordable development. The goal of current research is to point out the effects of the vibrations induced by mechanical or electromagnetic factors on the in-wheel motor solution. A similar analysis is to be performed in the vehicle’s chassis with special attention to the accumulators’ housings.
