The effects of the external feedback control on a single mode model of noncontact AFM in terms of modification of its nonlinear dynamical behavior are analyzed via several bifurcation analyses. Numerical simulations are carried out as a function of the excitation amplitude and of the feedback control parameter for different values of the forcing frequency, and allow one to detect the system stability boundary as the envelope of the obtained local escape thresholds. In particular, the interest is devoted to analyze the effect of the control on modifying the region of stability of the bounded solutions, and to make a comparison with the results obtained for the uncontrolled system, which has been already analyzed by the authors.
